Teens Turning Green Partners with e4-NYC for Conference on Environmental Education

WHAT:  Hundreds of student from middle school through college, teachers, administrators, community members, eco leaders, elected officials, non-profit organizations and business will come together for the Eco Expo for Environmental Education (e4-NYC), a free conference to collaborate and mobilize environmental change to conserve our limited resources.

Students will participate in panel discussions, dialogues, interactive workshops around environmental issues including; Global Perspective, Science, School Food, Green Schools, New Media and Eco-lifestyle. Student moderated panels include experts and leaders such as executive director, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), executives from Whole Foods Market, Rodale Inc., Dwell Magazine, Stewart+Brown, Barneys New York, and Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, scientists from NASA, Columbia and NYU, environmental media from Huffington Post, The Daily Green and ecofabulous.com. WHY:   A student-run and hosted event, the Eco Expo for Environmental Education (e4) is a forum for the promotion of environmental awareness and action. The conference will encourage attendees to green their lifestyles, school campuses and communities and to join the growing global effort for environmental protection.

GREAT VISUALS: Environmental leaders sharing resources with inspired students and teachers around the country to help them create changes in their schools, homes and communities, an Eco Resource fair with a collective of products, services, and environmental initiatives; a Green Spa, including Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, Earth Friendly Cleaning Products, Auspen, eco dry erase board markers.

ABOUT TTG: Teens Turning Green is a non-profit organization devoted to education and advocacy around environmentally and socially responsible choices for individuals, schools, and communities. The student-led movement seeks to promote global sustainability by identifying and eliminating toxic exposure that permeates our lives, and threaten public and environmental health. What began in 2005 now has a presence at numerous middle and high schools, universities, and student organizations across the country. The TTG chapters lead grassroots efforts that aim to raise awareness, advocate for policy change and educate about greener alternatives in all aspects of life.
