From Green Girl Erin Schrode's Teens Turning Green
Hand-selected by teenagers for safety, sustainability, and practicality, the Teens Turning Green Collection was launched September, '08 at Whole Foods Market nationally. The unprecedented eco body care line for teens is a partnership between Teens Turning Green, a coalition of young women and men dedicated to raising awareness about the health risks from ingredients in our daily use products, and seven companies with “green” brands. TTGC features a cross-section of the best skin and body care products on the market. They attain the Whole Foods Market Premium Body Care Standard , setting the bar for the “cleanest” products in retail. We just even added a cleaning product to our collection, with new product additions coming shortly.
The eight products were hand selected by the teens because they were concerned about the potentially harmful ingredients they were putting on and thus into their bodies everyday in their personal care and cosmetics products. When they couldn’t find products that were made without toxic ingredients that really worked, they took matters into their own hands; working with some of the most eco-friendly companies they developed a pure, clean line just for teens to ensure healthier bodies, a healthier planet and a healthier future. This teen line is available at Whole Foods Market nationwide. (It’s actually the first time a major retailer has partnered with a non-profit to develop a line). We are very appreciative of Whole Foods Market’s support and belief in our mission.
